California Conservation Corps 4900 Mt. Lakes Blvd. Suite A, Redding 530-241-3030 www.ccc.ca.gov The CCC offers employment opportunities to 18-23 year olds in such areas as park and trail building, planting trees, restoring historic buildings, fighting fires and flood control. Benefits include health insurance, vacation and sick leave. GED assistance is also available.
Job Corps (800) 733-JOBS or (800) 733-5627 www.jobcorps.gov/ Job Corps offers job training and placement for low income youth 16-24 years of age. In addition, assistance is provided in obtaining GEDs and High School Diplomas. Benefits include medical, dental and other benefits. Dormitory style living.
California Indian Manpower Consortium 2540 Hartnell Avenue, Suite #1, Redding (530) 222-1004 California Indian Manpower Consortium offers employment and training services to Native Americans who are economically disadvantaged. Services include counseling, work experience, on-the-job training and classroom training.
National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program www.ngycp.org The National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program offers many services to at risk youth 16-18 years of age. Click on the link above for more information on services and application process.

    Intro to Microsoft Word and Excel

    Expand your knowledge of the MS Word program in this basic skills workshop. Get a better understanding of how to use this common word processor, including: understand the ribbon, creating and editing documents, formatting and printing documents, and more.

    Learn how to use Microsoft's electronic spreadsheet program in this beginning workshop.  We will go over basic terminology, the ribbon, spreadsheet tools, navigating the spreadsheet, selecting cells and ranges, basic formulas, and entering data to create a simple spreadsheet. 

    Designed for those who have basic computer skills, but little to no experience with the Microsoft Excel and Word.

                Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and will provide tips for taking online employment tests. The

                workshop will review sample test questions. We will cover setting up a LinkedIn account and how

                to use this to market yourself and network with other professionals.
