Smart staff attended the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) annual forum in Washington, D.C. from March 28th-31st.  Forum 2015 focused on the major policy changes inherent in the new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) with a goal of providing workforce, education and economic development stakeholders with the tools and strategies needed to provide vision, leadership, and impact in addressing the workforce needs and improving the economic health of their regions.

Emphasis throughout the conference was regionalism, industry sectors and engaging businesses, serving out of school youth, serving and making employment connections to the disabled, and apprenticeships.
