JOB DUTIES

The Smart Business Resource Center, a private, non-profit, public benefit corporation in Shasta and Trinity County, seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic full time Program Instructor to join our team. The primary function of this position is to facilitate instruction of workshops to qualified job seekers and individuals with diverse backgrounds seeking to obtain a GED or HiSet certification. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Facilitate GED and HiSet preparation program to include tutoring, instruction and testing
  • Developing curriculum for job search techniques to include resume building, online job applications, and Microsoft Office skill development
  • Understanding the needs of employers to effectively assist businesses with their hiring needs
  • Cultivating ongoing relationships with local businesses while marketing Smart Center programs and services
  • Matching needs of business community with qualified job seekers
  • Assisting job seekers to find self-sufficient employment
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client files and tracking systems
  • Prepare clear and concise case notes
  • Display excellent organizational skills

 

Preferred background or knowledge in:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive
  • Valid California teaching credential preferred
  • Hiring practices, employment and labor laws, marketing and sales, labor market information, contract writing, effective job search techniques

The Smart Center participates in the California DMV Employer Pull Notice Program. Applicants are required to provide DMV printout with application.

Wages / Salary: $15.00 – $19.40 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Days: Monday, Friday

Benefits: Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Leave

Number of hours/week: 40 hours/week

Contract Status: Regular

Requirements

Experience in field: Advanced knowledge and experience managing Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive

Driver’s License Required: Yes

Class: C

DMV History: No

FMCSA Medical Card Required: No

Education Level: Any combination equivalent to two years of college in human resources, psychology, business administration, social services or closely related experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. California Teaching Credential preferred.
