Are you an employer in a field that requires education and training in science, technology, engineering, or math?
In 6 to 10 years, how much will it cost you to recruit and hire a young professional matching the requirements for your most highly skilled positions? What if you had the opportunity to connect with that future employee now, in exchange for just a few hours of your time?
This October, 1500 North State high school freshmen will visit the Shasta District Fairgrounds in Anderson to learn about career opportunities that require proficiency in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). This one day event, titled “Ignite Opportunity”, will take place on Friday, October 23, 2015. We invite you to partner with community volunteers and the Shasta County Office of Education in inspiring North State 9th grade students to prepare for and pursue these career opportunities.
Partnership includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing a hands on activity or visual demonstration of what your engineers, scientists, and technical specialists do
- Setting up a “booth” with professionals ready to interact with students and share their passion
- Providing a written profile of your company, “STEM” careers available, and education/training required to start those careers
We hope that we can count on your organization to participate in Ignite Opportunity. Let’s show the young people of this community the awesome opportunities that await them if they prepare!
