Wage: $15-$19.40 per hour
Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
Number of hours/week: 40 hours/week
Job Hours: 8am – 5pm

JOB DUTIES

The Smart Business Resource Center, a private, non-profit, public benefit corporation in Shasta and Trinity County, seeks a full-time Program Adviser to join our team. The Program Adviser facilitates the connection between businesses and qualified job seekers. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the needs of employers to effectively assist businesses with their hiring needs
  • Cultivating ongoing relationships with local businesses while identifying and developing new business leads
  • Market Smart Center programs and services to business and client communities
  • Matching needs of business community with qualified job seekers

Identifying new business leads to increase community

  • Evaluating and certifying the eligibility of program participants for job training and education
  • Creating employment plans and coordinating basic job preparation activities
  • Update Salesforce database regularly with thorough and accurate data
  • Display excellent organizational skills
  • Dynamic personality with strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to negotiate and develop business contracts with local employers

Preferred background or knowledge in:

  • Marketing and sales principles, business development, hiring practices, employment and labor laws, labor market information, contract writing, effective job search techniques
  • Software programs including Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook and Excel

REQUIREMENTS
Any combination equivalent to two years of college in marketing, business administration, human resources, psychology, social services or closely related experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Driver’s License Required: Yes, Class: C
The Smart Center participates in the California DMV Employer Pull Notice Program.

JOB DUTIES
The Smart Business Resource Center, a private, non-profit, public benefit corporation in Shasta and Trinity County, seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic full time Program Adviser to join our team. The primary function of this position is to facilitate instruction of group workshops to qualified job seekers and individuals with diverse backgrounds. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing curriculum for job search techniques to include resume building, online job applications, and Microsoft Office skill development
  • Understanding the needs of employers to effectively assist businesses with their hiring needs
  • Cultivating ongoing relationships with local businesses while marketing Smart Center programs and services
  • Matching needs of business community with qualified job seekers
  • Assisting job seekers to find self-sufficient employment
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client files and tracking systems
  • Prepare clear and concise case notes
  • Display excellent organizational skills

Preferred background or knowledge in:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive
  • Valid California teaching credential preferred
  • Hiring practices, employment and labor laws, marketing and sales, labor market information, contract writing, effective job search techniques
